The happy holiday of Purim celebrates that the jews in ancient times escaped a genocide planned by the Persians. It is an amazing experience, especially for me, a true Norwegian. The whole holiday contains drinking (loads of) alcohol (yes, also the orthodox jews) and invested costumes. A long weekend filled with fun! Here are some of the stuff I witnessed during this event in TLV. Among them a street party outside the opera and a Zooombie march!
365 glimpses of TLV

TLV museum of art
The architecture of the entrance tel Aviv museum of art is brilliant. It was in this building I for the first time in my life laid my eyes on a real Kandinsky painting. As his paintings is the true love of my live, I couldn't hold back my tears. An astonishing moment.

Back to the 50's

Douglas Gordon mixed media
The other day I went to the opening of an exhibition in the TLV museum of art starring the Scottish artist Douglas Gordon. It was a travel through media. Retro Yafo
A sunny day in the narrow streets of Yafo, Tel Aviv. Walking through the streets here you can get an image of the past with all the messy second hand shops and antique boutiques. It's the perfect place to go to find costumes and furniture from any decade. You pick one, and the feel would be complete!

Mannequin in Yafo
A well hidden, worth finding 2-hand shop in Yafo. Here you find all the original old designer shoes.
New ethnic masks
Seen in the TLV art market. My father always used to collect these twisted wooden faces whenever he was out and about
Waiting for the bang
In a random staircase seeking shelter, when the second alarm went off in Tel Aviv, and the 3 and 4 rocket was shot down. It was a terrifying moment.

Southern beauty @ levinski
At the Levinski (nuts and spice) market in the south of TLV, you can get a real middle-eastern feeling with all the bags filled with different delights, global creatures and arabic letters. A little different from the more Central parts of town, that easily could fool you to believe your in a european city.
